Heytea Xi'an: A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

Uno Chan's Award-Winning Design for a New Tea Brand Chain Store

Heytea Xi'an, a new tea brand chain store, is a testament to the fusion of traditional and modern design elements. Uno Chan, the designer behind this project, has successfully integrated the brand's business logic with the iterative needs of function and style, creating a unique store that stands out in the mall.

The store's design is inspired by the need to continue the brand's business logic while meeting the iterative needs of function and style. The facade's presentation integrates the original architectural structure and commercial form of the site, turning interesting thinking into a combination scene of indoor and outdoor furniture.

What sets this design apart from others is its pure and concise space. The designer used rammed earth in modern architecture and combined cement, mirror, and metal materials in the form of geometric blocks. This approach aligns with Heytea's brand concept of simplicity and exquisiteness.

The rammed earth material reflects the texture of time precipitation, contrasting with the atomized glass on the facade. This combination engraves the rhythm of space and the beauty of texture. On the other side of the street, wheat ears and reeds create a large area of landscape, enhancing the experience atmosphere of the external exhibition area and strengthening the interaction inside and outside the store.

The project covers a total of 320 square meters. The interior design follows the consistent restraint and balance of the brand, completing the expression of smooth and clean space with transparent, pure, and delicate visual presentation. The interior landscape design makes full use of the scattered space, embodying visual artistry and blending into the modern sense of neatness.

The project started in March 2019 in Xi'an and finished in May 2019. The design faced challenges such as the proximity of the entrance to the stairs of the shopping mall, which compressed a part of the interior space. The designer used the reflection of matte stainless steel to enhance the modern tonality of the entire space, solving the space subtly by the building cylinder. The column is expressed by the special body block device, making the narrow space more rhythmic and interesting.

Heytea Xi'an was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2020. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
